I love homemade meatballs. My mom used to make this recipe all the time. This is a special recipe out of our church cookbook, by Hazel Duzan.
My boys were so impressed this was a homemade barbecue sauce. One asked for seconds, and the other one gave me a thumbs up!
Three pounds of hamburger sounds like a lot, but this makes a big batch! I used a scoop to make my meatballs, but I still used my hand to form the meatballs, so they were firmer and cooked better.

What is the “1 cup mild”?
Thanks for sharing the recipe for barbecue meatballs. The article is so helpful for my kitchen haul.
I had a pretty filling dinner but had you put this in front of me right now I would have had bite after bite of this. Definitely trying this.

I used a 11X15 pan & this recipe FILLED it up? How on earth did you get them to fit in a 9X13 pan? The meatballs were about twice the size of golf balls. They are in the oven now. Sauce was yummy. I taste tested that! Serving with rice & steamed broccoli.
I made this today and it was absolutely amazing. Keeping this recipe.
Very excited to try these, we have fresh beef too, hopefully I do a good job, & everyone enjoys, can't wait, will try to remember to post my finished product...

These were delicious. I made 1/2 recipe. Filled 10 inch corning ware dish.
I halved the recipe and used crushed Ritz cracker instead of oatmeal, the entire family LOVED them.

Making these for our Christmas tomorrow. Can't wait to try them! Thank you for the recipe. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
I think it says "1 cup MILK"
So others have reference, I use a regular sized cookie scoop and I have to use a 10x15 and a 9x9 dish for all the meatballs. But that's okay because I can freeze the 9x9. This is a good recipe for making them up to freeze too. Delicious flavor and easy to make!
