When Your Garden Doesn't Go As Planned

A month ago I was blogging about LOVE your Garden!  We loved it, pulled weeds and cultivated it! We have had plenty of rain, probably more in June than what we really needed.  Things were going great the beginning of the growing season. The garden looked good at the beginning.

Here is where you can tell things start to change. We received hail one evening.  The next day, the lettuce was shredded! The hail made a big difference to the lettuce.  We were only worried about a few plants in a garden. The stress farmers go through worrying about hundred and hundred of acres, is on  a larger scale than what we worry about.  Some of the corn around us did get hit by the hail, too.  It was in an early stage, it did not set it back that far.
